Caring for Your MDF Board

MDF is not water resistant, so it is essential to seal your board before tiling. A simple and cost effective method is to mix equal parts water and PVA (Polyvinyl Acetate) and apply it to all surfaces, including the edges and back, to create a protective barrier.

Once your mosaic is complete and grouted, painting the sides and back with multiple layers of paint will help prevent moisture damage. To further protect your artwork and enhance its longevity, seal the mosaic surface with a high quality grout sealer.
