Caring for Your MDF Board

MDF is not water resistant, so it is essential to seal the board before applying tiles. A cost effective method is to mix equal parts water and PVA (Polyvinyl Acetate) and apply it to all surfaces, including the edges and back.

Once your mosaic is complete and grouted, painting the sides and back with multiple layers of paint will help prevent moisture from creeping in. For added protection and longevity, finish by sealing the mosaic surface with a high quality grout sealer.
